Our mission at the Tisch School of the Arts is to help create thinking artists and scholars who are connected to the world and engaged with the critical issues of the day. Tisch School of the Arts has a long history of offering courses, internships and programs that provide opportunities for Tisch students to be teaching artists in the communities that surround New York University, throughout New York City, and around the world. Tisch's connections in the community range in scope from working with children in hospitals to teaching Pre-k students to compose songs to working with youth in Sarajevo to rebuilding public playgrounds that were lost in times of war. This mission is achieved through a unique web of enterprises throughout Tisch.
