The University Arts Council, under the auspices of the Office of Thomas Crow, Associate Provost for the Arts, provides a forum for interdisciplinary research, discussion, and collaboration in the visual arts.
Again this year, the Council will offer a limited number of Visual Arts Awards to foster new initiatives in creative activities and scholarship, and to encourage new ways of thinking about the arts at NYU.
These awards provide up to $5,000 to support the development of innovative projects in the visual arts and related fields. The types of projects that are fundable include, but are not limited to, creation of artwork, research, symposia, lectures, exhibitions, and curriculum development.
Eligibility
We encourage application proposals submitted by faculty members who are officially affiliated with NYU as full-time faculty members, adjunct faculty members, or directors. Collaboration among faculty from different departments or schools is encouraged. Projects will be funded for spring and/or summer 2012 beginning in January 2012.
